  • 2016 SPRING CLINIC:  

    • Our 2016 Spring Clinic will begin on February 28 and conclude on May 1.  Clinic sessions will consist of two practices per week and will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.  Details on times and days will depend on number of kids and ages that register.  Clinic sessions are tentatively planned for Monday/Tuesdays and Sundays (afternoon), weather permitting.  Days, times and locations will be finalized once registration is complete.  The first session on February 28 will consist of an evaluation/combine day.  Groups, especially at the youth level, will be formed based on evaluations of skills as well as physical and mental maturity.  Price of the 2016 Spring Clinic is $60 for 18 clinic sessions.

    • We are excited to announce that THE FIELD will have several additional coaches involved in the spring clinic this year.  In addition to Hoss and Scott, several former coaches and/or players from the Huntsville area will work with us from time to time including:

      • Taye Biddle, WR (Ole Miss, NFL, Arena)

      • Jay Brooks, DB (MTSU)

      • Joe Demos, DL (Alabama, Delta State)

      • Freddie Goodwin, DE (Jacksonville State, NFL)

      • Patrick Junen, OL (Ole Miss)

      • David Knott, DB (Ole Miss, NFL, Arena)

      • Connor Neighbors, RB (LSU, NFL)

      • Ben Neill, QB (Samford, QB Country)

      • Gary Otten, OL (Alabama, West Georgia)

    • Our target age groups are Youth (8-11), Middle School (12-13), High School (14-18)

      • Groups will be limited to 15 athletes

    • Clinic registration can be done through:

      • Email all forms (forms are located here) and payment via Square (THE FIELD will invoice via an email statement after registration forms are received)

      • In person registration dates:

        • Saturday, January 23, McGucken Park Field House, 1pm - 2:30pm

        • Saturday, January 30, location TBD, 1pm - 2:30pm

        • Saturday, February 13, location TBD, 1pm - 2:30pm

    • Recommended gear

      • A signed waiver will be required if athlete decides not to use helmet

      • Hard shell helmets are not allowed

      • Soft, 7 on 7 style, helmet.  If you already have one from a previous clinic you may use that helmet.  Below are two companies that sell these types of helmets:

    • Required equipment

      • mouth piece

      • cleats

      • gym shoes (basketball type)

    • In additional to our football skills and fundamentals sessions, David Knott (Owner of Knotts's Gym, Inc.) will be offering a 20 to 30 minute workout session on Sundays immediately after each clinic session.  Coach Knott has several years of experience in personal training of football players at the youth, high school, college and professional level.  With Coach Knott's background in football (at the collegiate and pro level), he has a great sense of how football players need to train to utilized the talents they were blessed with to the best of their ability.  Coach Knott also specializes in any level (high school, college and professional) combine testing preparation training.  These sessions are very intense but extremely effective in improving a football players speed, quickness, strength and stamina. Each session will cost $5 and will be due before the workouts begin (this is in addition to Spring Clinic costs).

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION:  THE FIELD offers year round football training to youth, middle school and high school aged athletes.  Please contact us about personal training.  Available times and rates are available upon request.





* Clinics that are run by the field will be intense, fundamental driven, football practices.  Sessions will be geared to the particular age groups, but athletes will be challenged mentally, physically and spiritually.  It is imperative that athletes are on time (preferably 10-15 minutes early) and ready to practice when they arrive.   Note:  Where appropriate for drills, etc., athletes will be separated into groups with similar aged athletes.
